Hoh Rainforest

Hoh Rainforest

I planned this day hike as soon as I found out about the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park.

It took about two hours to drive to the entrance from Port Angeles but the drive itself was incredible. When we got to the trail head some deer had already blocked the path. I feel like we may be the deer whisperers.

I was completely stunned by my surroundings. There was a light drizzle and everything was orange and green and stunningly brilliant. I fell in love. And I took enough pictures to make an album.

I look so tiny. It's like a 'Where's Waldo' game. Although my bright purple jacket isn't making it very difficult.

This little guy decided to have a snack with us. He had already begun to munch on a yummy looking acorn but we opted for trial mix.

I loved watching the fog move across the trees. Very serene. I would have Collin stop every now and then just so we could listen to the river and the rain hitting the leaves.

We spotted a bob cat and carefully took a few pictures before heading out so not to disturb him.

Can you spot him?

Collin wanted to get closer to see the bob cat. Always an adventure.

This tree looked like a brontosaurus from the other side.

See what I mean?

This hike was definitely memorable. And there wasn't as much uphill climbing which made my legs happy. If you ever visit Washington this hike is a must.

I've already asked Collin to take me back someday. If you ever get the chance to go please do and make sure you visit in October. Beautiful foliage and weather. What more could you ask for?

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
