Book Review - The Cuckoo's Calling

Book Review - The Cuckoo's Calling

I haven't done one of these in a while but this book is too good not to share. I have been itching to read Robert Galbraith's (aka J.K. Rowling) new novel for ages.  I finally got my hands on it a couple of weeks ago.

This book is an incredibly well written (no surprise there) suspense novel. It centers around a private investigator with his own issues that is hired to open an investigation by the victim's brother. The whole world thought the death of a beloved and ethereal model was a suicide but her brother has other ideas.

I'm halfway through and it just keeps getting better and better. I definitely am the type of person who needs a book to keep my attention the whole time or I end up putting it down indefinitely. The characters in this book continue to get more and more interesting. Each new character that is introduced brings their own quirky charm and questions to the investigation. While some are happy to assist the private investigator with answering queries or setting up meetings with people who knew the victim, others would rather not be bothered which intrigues the investigator. No stone is left unturned when it comes to this private investigator.

While I am still in the midst of reading I know it will continue to surprise and entice me to turn the next page. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

What books have you been reading lately? Feel free to share in the comments.

I hope you get to dive into a new book this week!
